WINTER NAMM 2008
Thanks for visiting my website. This year’s Winter NAMM show seemed to be particularly busy. The first day, Thursday, was more like a Saturday. It was absolutely packed! Everyone was excited and the floor traffic was heavy. I’m sure the vendors appreciated the crowds and I trust it was a successful NAMM for everyone.
What I love about Winter NAMM is that the new year is upon us and the optimism is high. It’s always a great time to catch up with business associates, old friends and you can make a few new friends along the way. It’s also a great time to see some fantastic guitar playing in the vendor booths.
This NAMM review does not cover the standard fair. Fender, Marshall, Boss, they all make fine equipment but I tend to stay away from the mainstream builders. (I do like the new Gibson ES-339 though). Besides, how many “signature” models can you release? This NAMM review focuses on the very talented and hard working boutique builders; seeing them break through giant business conglomerates is a winning success story all on it’s own. There are so many talented designers out there creating their expression in guitars, amps and effects. Their ideas are fresh and inventive and I am truly inspired by their work.
For those of you who missed this year’s Winter NAMM, I’ve provided my personal take on the latest
and greatest boutique gear at the show. I hope you enjoy!
